Broadband Infraco, is a long distance national and international optic fibre connectivity network infrastructure provider based in Radiokop, seeks to appoint a suitable candidate to the following employment opportunity:
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING OFFICER (PERMANENT)
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Manager: Finance, the incumbent will:
- Review and process all recorded transactions by accounts payable staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and validity as well as.
- Review the accounts payable age analysis for long outstanding items to ensure they are in line with the PFMA regulations.
- Update all cash books and prepare bank reconciliations.
- Load payments and issue proof of payments to all parties paid via the bank online system.
- Recommend changes to financial management policies and procedures and ensure implementation.
- Provide guidance to accounts payable staff and assist with reconciliation of complex transactions.
- Maintain the fruitless and wasteful expenditure register and report monthly.
- Detailed analyses and preparation of reconciliation of specific income statement and balance sheet general ledger accounts.
- The reconciliations include all treasury related reconciliations, i.e. bank accounts, investment accounts and loan accounts, and monthly follow up and cleaning of reconciling items.
- Assisting with audit queries.
Qualification and Experience:
- Minimum requirements bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Higher Diploma in accounting.
- Completed SAICA articles and plus additional 2 years post articles experience or minimum 5 years’ experience in financial accounting or financial management in a corporate environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS, PFMA and relevant legislation and regulations impacting on finance functions in organisations and knowledge of electronic financial packages.
